Tension is an essential part of creative energy. Design is an iterative process so designers are fairly used to finding the solution when they have a full and rounded brief.
But if they get truly stuck, offer to lend your shoulder to the wheel. Often times the problem hasn’t been clearly articulated – which is more likely to have been an innocent oversight rather than anyone’s ‘fault’.
When in doubt, go back to the brief or framing document or look for a way through that protects the quality of the work rather than the ego of the individual.
